Stories of Hope Inspired by Hallmark’s Miracles of Christmas

During the month of December I will highlight some of my favorite Hallmark Christmas movies.

These are movies that comforted me at different seasons of my life.

I found my way into the Hallmark Christmas Movie fandom in 2017, while facing my first Christmas as a widow. Since then, these movies have been a source of joy, inspiration, and hope.

Gather ’round and lean in close, folks, because my final pick of the season is….Everything Christmas!

  • Enjoying the moment.
  • Knowing you are exactly where you are meant to be.
  • Learning when to say “no.”
  • Learning to stay present.

Everything Christmas is a story about a pair of best friends who couldn’t be any more different from one another. Lori-Jo “LJ” (Cindy Busby) and Viktoria “Tori” (Katherine Barrell), despite being polar opposites, they each share the above themes in their own way.

The besties embark on a venture to fulfill the promise LJ made to her now-deceased grandmother: a vow to travel to Yuletide Springs— a town in which Christmas is celebrated all year long—and hang the ornament they made together on the town’s Christmas tree by Christmas Eve.

As they travel to their destination, they encounter several delays. At each wrong turn, after every misstep, the travelers are reminded that they “should not let the unexpected things in life pass them by.”

Everything Christmas reminds viewers that destinations are sometimes filled with delays…and delays can sometimes guide us toward different paths. Despite being unfamiliar, these paths are often the most delightful of life’s blessings.

My wish for all who watch this heartwarming movie is that your holidays be filled with hope.

Merry Christmas!
