The Moments of Hope (Week 2)
A Bramble House Christmas
Stories of Hope Inspired by Hallmark’s Miracles of Christmas
During the month of December I will highlight some of my favorite Hallmark Christmas movies.
These are movies that comforted me at different seasons of my life.
I found my way into the Hallmark Christmas Movie fandom in 2017, while facing my first Christmas as a widow. Since then, these movies have been a source of joy, inspiration, and hope.
My second pick of the season is…insert drum roll here…A Bramble House Christmas!
“What do you do when you’re given a second chance at life and you don’t know what to do with it?”
That’s the question Willa Fairchild (Autumn Reeser) wrestled with when her recently deceased client left her an inheritance large enough to pay off her son Scout’s (Liam Hughes) crippling medical bills and to take an all-expense-paid Christmas getaway, to, you guessed it: Bramble House. This is the place where the benefactor spent his childhood vacations and his happiest times with his two estranged children, Finn (David Haydn- Jones) and daughter Molly (Julie Benson).
The story focuses on an outraged Finn and Molly, who after learning their father left a substantial sum of money to his former caregiver, immediately get an injunction to block the inheritance. With a plan in place to trap Willa before serving her papers, Finn decides to go undercover and heads out to Bramble House.
What Finn soon discovers is what his dad knew all along—Willa was a beautiful, sweet, and kindhearted soul who helped him make peace with his past and embrace second chances. In his quest to expose Willa as a fraud, he developed a deepening friendship with Willa and Scout…a friendship he stands to lose once the deception is discovered.
A Bramble House Christmas is a beautiful story of second chances and finding purpose after facing some of life’s most difficult challenges.
My wish for all who watch this heartwarming movie is that your holidays be filled with hope.
Merry Christmas!
