I had the opportunity of attending a 13-hour seminar this past weekend (yes you read correctly!)…and to say that I left with enough material to fuel the Hope Chronicles through to 2025 is no exaggeration!
To give you some context, one of my favorite public figures, an entrepreneur-turned-motivational-speaker-turned-author, was promoting her new book Worthy. She invited some of the best motivational speakers in the biz to speak life into the audience, share their personal experiences, and discuss how they were able to tap into their own “worthiness.”
One such speaker I want to highlight this month was Sarah Jakes Roberts.
I heard of Sarah’s ability to “pack venues” but never had the honor of listening to her.
Long story short, I’m now a fan.
Sarah asked, “Who is the main character in your story?” before challenging us not to think of the answer in terms of a who but rather a belief. As humans, we tend to mirror what we are surrounded by and become more loyal to that than to ourselves.
What is it you believe about yourself? Remember, transformation can only take place once you uncover this.
If you don’t know that answer—here’s a follow up question:
What do you want to believe about yourself or envision for yourself? Remember, we give our faith a target when we are intentional. With intention, we begin to water that faith or belief so when thoughts from the deceiver try to seize control of our minds..we can serve them an eviction notice and show them the door!
Even before concrete evidence shows up to “support” our faith, we keep watering.
Because finding hope in the story requires well… having hope.

I’ve never considered myself the main character in my story, so that question really resonated with me. My mom, my children, the two grandchildren that are local have all been main characters in my story, after Jesus. I’ve been motivated by supporting them, and the care I’ve given to myself has been so that I can be there for them. I’ve never been my number 1 priority because I’m empty without them. Jesus has given me direction and purpose to bless and help those in need and that’s always been my family first. I’ve never been first. This message you’ve shared has given me a lot to think about.

Sis! Same! I never thought as myself as the main story but then again, she challenged us not think of the main character as a “who” but rather a “belief”
Game changer!
Thanks for reading and sharing!
