It’s often said that when you’re mourning a loved one—or simply longing to feel their presence—and a butterfly appears, it’s a sign. A gentle visit. Sometimes the butterfly lingers. Sometimes it hovers, as if watching. But often, it shows up just when we’re about to lose hope.
This past week, I received some difficult news. I spent the weekend quietly, alternating between reflection, watching movies, and attending church services. After Sunday service, I went up to my room to rest and reflect. As I lay perfectly still, my gaze landed on my beloved mother’s jewelry box.
It’s a silver antique box that sits atop a larger, flat jewelry box. From the angle I was lying, I had never noticed the four delicate legs of the box—or the small silver “key” nestled between two of them.
I jumped out of bed, ran over, and turned the box upside down. It was indeed a key—the kind you wind to play music. I turned it gently and listened. Out came the tune: Unforgettable.
Smiling, I placed the box back in its spot. That’s when I made a second discovery: engraved in cursive on the top were my mother’s initials.
I don’t know exactly what this discovery means, or what message I was meant to receive. But I do know this: my mother passed in January 2014, and I found this musical box at a time when I was feeling anxious and uncertain. That timing was no coincidence.
In life, we often dismiss signs as mere coincidences. But are they really?
Sometimes, signs are messages wrapped in hope—meant to guide us through life’s challenges.
This week, I encourage you to be on the lookout. For things you’ve walked past a hundred times. For objects that suddenly catch your eye. For moments that feel like more than chance.
There may be a message of hope waiting for you.
And where there’s hope, there’s a way.

Have you accepted Christ in your life?
Jesus died on the cross to save a sinner like you and me. It’s obvious that He loves us very much. He died and rose again so that we may have eternal life and whosoever believed on Him shall not perish but have eternal life. Would you like that eternal life with Him?
Follow these steps:
1. Repent of all your sins. To repent means to have a remorseful spirit for the things that you have done and are still doing in your life. Ask God to come into your heart and in your life. Admit that you need Him and can not make it without Him in this life.
2. Be Baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:38) To be baptized is to go down unclean in the spirit and rising up again cleansed from sin and unrighteousness.

Hi Katherine. I wrote a nice message then hit something on the keyboard…Lost it.
After all this time and looking at the music box, getting up and fining the key was special. Your mom and myself loved Nat King Cole’s Unforgettable. Then noticing her initials. Right on time.
Ive been Baptized in Jesus’s name and waiting for the rupture.
Another excellent HOPE message.
Love you,
Aunt Louise
