I remember going through life at a rapid pace; never pausing to ask for clarity. This rush to get to the next item on the list would eventually impact all areas of my life: work, relationships, and ultimately my self-esteem.
Last December, I decided to re-read the Bible in a year—this time with an accompanying summary of the day’s scriptures. What made this study different than I’ve completed in the past was that the focus was also placed on the recap.
God, give me wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.
God, let any knowledge I gain serve to help me love You and others more, and not puff me up.
God, help me see something new about You I’ve never seen before.
God, correct any lies I believe about You or anything I misunderstand.
God, direct my steps according to your Word.
I realized that being intentional prior to reading the scriptures gave meaning and purpose to my study. Then it hit me: what if I applied this thought to everything I do? How different would my life be?
Intention. The new hope.
