A Christian influencer I follow shared a story about a difficult season in her life. During that time, she found comfort in knowing that it would come to an end the following year. Unfortunately, she had no idea that the beginning of that new year would also mean beginning it without her sister.
What she learned from that experience reflected something the Apostle Paul wrote about—learning to be content in all circumstances. Notice that he didn’t say content because of all circumstances (Philippians 4:11–13)
Looking back, she realized she had spent so much time wishing away the present that she missed opportunities to simply enjoy life and the people around her. She was focused on hoping for a better future instead of embracing the moments she had.
That realization gave her a new perspective on navigating difficult times. Hope is not just about looking forward to a different season; it’s also about finding purpose and gratitude in the season you’re currently in.
And where there’s hope, there’s a way.
